About About Us

In our company AMANO HOKOKU CO., LTD., we handle premium items that other companies don’t offer, from overseas including France, Italy and Middle East. As for the domestic Tannery’s leather, we carefully choose high-quality products.

At Amano, we place a high priority on the “sustainability” of our leather products and, as a matter of principle, source raw hides made entirely from by-products. We are committed to negotiating directly with suppliers—without any agents or trading companies—and selling our products at fair prices to foster long-term business relationships.

AMANO HOKOKU CO., LTD. was founded in the Meiji era. Since then, we have continued developing and offering high-quality leather over the years for everyone who demands leather. We offer innovative and new designs, combined with our extensive experience in leather processing.

  • We have been in the leather goods business for over 100 years. In addition to our domestically produced goods, we have been expanding our sales channels for overseas products since the 1970s by visiting trade shows and tanneries in Italy and Spain. As we continue to consider what Amano can contribute to the future, we intend to expand our selection of French-made leather goods—which are at the forefront of the SDGs—and continue to explore the concept of “sustainability” for the leather industry.

What we can do What We Can Do

  • 天野にしか出来ない皮革商品を提案

    Leather Goods Unique to Amano

The era of mass-producing subpar products based solely on price competition has come to an end. Going forward, we will offer high-quality products at fair prices, as well as rare and distinctive products sourced through our unique network.

  • あらゆる海外の商品をご紹介

Introducing a Wide Variety of International Products

Many international products remain relatively unknown in certain markets, and there are still products that have yet to be discovered by established and prestigious tanneries. We are pleased to introduce these products, with Amano’s reliability and proven results.

  • 伝統技術と先進技術の融合で新たな道を模索

Exploring New Paths Through the Fusion of Traditional and Advanced Technologies

Since ancient times, leather goods have enhanced their value by applying traditional techniques such as persimmon tannin dyeing, indigo dyeing, white tanning, and yuzen (stamp-print dyeing). In recent years, we use chemicals derived from plant tannins, and combine traditional techniques and advanced technologies—such as the automation of dyeing processes and the use of computers to formulate chemical solutions. Amano aims to find value in the fusion of traditional techniques and modern, advanced technology.

  • LEATHER SOMMELIER Leather Sommelier

All sales staff have earned the Leather Sommelier certification and use their accurate knowledge of leather goods to provide personalized recommendations. In addition to tanning and dyeing, they also have extensive knowledge of types of leather and their care, enabling us to offer recommendations tailored to the specific characteristics of each product, including bags, shoes, and accessories.

The Leather Sommelier is a professional certification that recognizes specialized knowledge and expertise in leather, promoted by the Japan Leather Wholesale Business Cooperative Association and the Japan Leather Industry Federation, a general incorporated association.
